![]() ![]() Overall, I liked the game and now I am waiting for its remake. SHODAN, while only teasing the protagonist, was still a cunning and enjoyable villian. Voice actors did a well done job in keeping me invested in researching the mysteries behind Citadel Station and its crew's downfall. While overall story wasn't anything complex, I liked how it was narrated through audiologs. The game really gave me some Alien and 2001 vibes with its level design and plot. The level design was sometimes a bit confusing but most of the time really remarkable and colorful. I recently finished SS1 and oh boy! It was really magnificent and immersive game that didn't concede to Deus Ex. So in light of upcoming remake of SS1 and new entry SS3 I finally decided to give it a try. I planned to play these games for ages because of knowledge that SS1&2 were made almost by the same people who made the first DE and because of people always say how these games influential and inspiring for game industry are. It haven't taken much time for me to find out about System Shock 1&2. To make a long story short, I love the first DE and will absolutely give another run someday. Also I find minor subplots about the daughter of owner of hotel 'Ton' and thief in UNATCO HQ to be interesting and intriguing. Despite of some conspiracy dullness, I really enjoyed the plot and how it brings up and deals with some very slippery philosophical and political topics. It had so many ways to complete levels which made my experiences with each level even more memorable and unique. It was really mind-blowing game because of a big amount of details that the game had for its time. ![]() I suppose I should begin with saying that the first Deus Ex is definitely one of my favourite games in general. ![]()
